Hello, just jumping in here today. It's Tuesday Q &A with Angela and I jump in here every Tuesday at quarter past 10 to answer any questions that you might have. I've been doing Friday lives as well. I'm finding there's been a lot of questions around what I'm doing with the whole reinvention, the reinvention blueprint and program I've been running. And I wanted to jump on here today because
I've had a few questions that have come through my DMs and I've also been working with a couple of clients this week that I'm working with through my program. And I kind of feel that there's this common thread that runs through everybody in their 40s and 50s and a lot of women are asking this same question. So I talk and teach on being, reinventing yourself, an identity shift.
It's all about transformation, evolving to the next level. And the common thread that I find that what people are asking is how do you know when it's time for a reinvention or a change or something new, or if you're going through an identity shift? Well, the first question you want to ask yourself is this, what are the signs that you're looking for? How do you feel right now?
Do you feel fulfilled in what you're doing? Are you feeling like this is aligned with you? Because I can say, when I was doing my other career and I was involved in restaurants, I can tell you there was many times I felt this was not aligning with me anymore. I was asking the question, what's next? So if you're asking that question, what's next? If you're asking that question, like, what are my next steps, or is this it? Well, then you kind of...
can say to yourself, I think I'm ready to look at something else. I think I might be ready for a change. So, you know, that's the first thing you want to be asking yourself is, do you feel inspired with what you're doing right now? And if it's not, you need to get some self awareness around how you're feeling about it all. And if it's not resonating with you in what you're doing right now, you want to be thinking, what can I do to start something new? What are the first steps that I can take to be able to
Angela Vassallo (02:20.546)
you know, move forward into something else. So that's the first thing you wanna be thinking. Some self-awareness around how you're feeling about what you're doing in your career. Because if it's not aligning with you anymore, you'll know it. You'll know that it's not working for you anymore. And the other thing you wanna think, is it draining me or is it giving me energy? Because if it's draining you on a daily basis, you gotta be thinking, well, is this really what I wanna be doing?
If you've reached a point in your life or your career where you feel like it is time for a transition, it is time to reinvent yourself or evolve, that's what a reinvention is all about. And that's what my program's all about. And I teach this to women, but the one question they keep asking is how do I know if I am ready for it? And then that's the question you need to ask yourself. Is it aligning with me anymore? Does it fuel me? Does it bring me joy or is it draining me?
because to find your purpose in life, I don't really believe that it takes, you get it done in your 20s and 30s. I think you start to figure out what your purpose is in your 40s and 50s. And the more people I meet, I'm realizing that. I know that it happened for me as well. It really hasn't happened for me until I started, once I hit 50, I started to figure out what my purpose was. And once you start to join the dots of where you've come from in your.
in your life and all the different things you've done, you start to figure that out. Like, okay, now I can see where once I sort of join these dots, where I am today and it leads you more to your purpose. And you you can start by getting some sort of clarity around that by saying to yourself, what is it that excites me? What am I curious about? Like I also say, when you're scrolling through Instagram and Facebook and LinkedIn, what are you reading? What are you looking at? What is it that's of interest to you?
Are you watching women in business? Is it people that are doing certain things? Are people talking a certain way on a certain subject that interests you? Because that can be something that will start to help you figure out what your next steps are. Because I think also you don't have all the answers when you get started. It's a bit of an evolution when it comes to your next step. You might be thinking, I had this perfect idea. I want to maybe start a business or whatever. Or you might be thinking, I'm not quite sure what's next. And that's when I say,
Angela Vassallo (04:37.194)
get curious about what are you naturally good at? Like what are the things that you desire to do? What do you secretly wish you could do? If you had all the resources and all the time, what would you secretly love to do? And that will give you some ideas and some hints about what your main purpose is or what your next steps could be. But yeah, be curious and figure out what are these things that really, really interest me.
Also get around some networking groups, get around some local networking groups to figure out what they're doing and start chatting to a lot of people because if you can do that, that will actually help you by chatting to people, what have you been doing? What are you doing? And then it starts to think, okay, that kind of resonates with me and then you can explore it that little bit more as well. I always go back to thinking about a book that Napoleon Hill wrote, you would have heard of it, Think and Grow Rich.
And in that, he said he did a study and found that the most productive years are your 40s and 50s. And a lot of people think, your late 40s and 50s, you should be slowing down, but it's actually the opposite. This is where you wanna ramp it up. This is where you wanna start understanding these are your most productive years. These are the years where you will have the most success. And there's four reasons why, he says. And what he says is number one, it's about being resourceful because
When you're in your most productive years in your 40s and 50s, you have more resources. You're able to figure things out and you're trusting yourself because you know that you figured things out before in the past and you know that you can sort it out again. So you become extremely resourceful. It is actually the number one key trait that a lot of business people look for in a staff member is resourcefulness. So if you become somebody that's very resourceful and figures things out. that's one thing that he said.
It's one of the most important things. That's why you become your most productive in that time. And the number two is about your relationships. You've gone through so much in your 40s and 50s. So you're much better with your relationships. So you've either got a partner or you've got your friends and you understand how to deal with relationships better. that's why you're more productive because you've got one, you're more resourceful, two, you've got better relationships.
Angela Vassallo (07:01.032)
And the third thing is you've got a stronger mindset because you understand that when you get knocked down, you bounce back faster. And there's not a lot that can kind of surprise you when you've reached your 40s and 50s because you've already been through so much. It's not a shock to you anymore. So your mindset becomes a lot stronger. And the fourth thing is resilience. So the more resilient you can be in life, and I always talk about that.
that resilience means that you keep pushing yourself, that you keep testing yourself, that you keep coming back and trying again, and keep, no matter how many times you get knocked down, you keep getting back up, you start to build your resilience. And your resilience comes from trust. See, when you can trust yourself, that if you are gonna get knocked down, that you're going to keep coming back, that is where you start to build your resilience. So they're the four things that he says.
You know, think and grow, Rich Napoleon Hill, when he did this study, he said, your most productive years are your 40s and 50s for those four reasons. One was the resourcefulness, two is your relationships, three is because you have a stronger mindset, and four is because you become more resilient. So I just want you to keep that in mind when you're going through this process of a reinvention or an identity shift and you're thinking your time is up or it's too late or you don't have enough, you know, knowledge about something before you
step one step into the next stage of your life. Think about what Napoleon Hill said, you've got all of those things going for you. And the studies are that people make their most money and have their most success in this time of their lives, in their 40s and 50s. So don't be too shy to think, okay, I don't want to have to change my career or reinvent myself or move into something or transition into something because of fear. Understand that you might be stepping into the best time of your life.
And I found that that's what happened to me is because once I sort of took in all the things that I had learned, I understood this. I'm not starting from scratch. I'm starting from experience. So think about what experience you already have, all the skillset that you've already acquired, all the knowledge that you already have, all the resilience that you've built, the resourcefulness that you have.
Angela Vassallo (09:19.3)
all of the things that you know that nobody else does that you've learned along the way, you'll be absolutely blown away when you sit down and you start to go through the process, which is what I take a lot of my clients through so they can figure out what they already have and how much resilience they already have and how much knowledge and experience and wisdom that they have. And they only bring that into the next stage of their life, the next career that they step into. So just understand that if you are in this space of like,
Am I ready for a reinvention? What would I do? How do I even get started? It's just baby steps, but figure out what you already know and start to think you can bring that in and also understand that this time of your life could be the most productive time of your life and you're most successful as well. So I hope that helps you guys out there. And if there's any other questions that you want to ask, please just DM me any questions. I pop on here.
at quarter past 10 every Tuesday to answer any questions that you might have. And I also am here on a Friday as well doing the lives for anybody else that has any questions to around this whole reinvention because it's a bit of a buzzword right now, this identity shift and this reinvention, the transformation, this whole, you know, this evolution of moving into this next stage. But understand if it's just one foot in the door, like you might have one foot still in what you're doing right now.
and you might have another foot in doing what you're wanting to do. Okay, because we've gotten to this position in our lives, we've earned the right to be able to say, okay, I'm ready for something else. But I think there's a lot of re-words out there, reclaim, reinvent, reignite, reinvention, all of these things with the re-words. And the re is all about something that has already been made, something you've already achieved.
and now you're just moving and growing part of that as well. So I really encourage everybody to start really listening into these lives because I'm gonna be sharing more and more and answering any more questions that I can for you guys as well. So please DM me or comment here and I'll make sure that I answer any questions that you have coming up as well. I look forward to seeing you all in the next live. Bye for now, have a great day.
